International Dance Party

Although Pok was born in Thailand, he grew up on the Outer Banks and has worked in restaurants almost as long as he can remember. As a kid, he helped in his uncle’s place, The Thai Room and moved on the apprentice with some truly great chefs.
“Everyone knows Pok” Growing up on a sand bar just a few miles wide is a unique experience – this is a very, very, small town and regulars love to remind Pok they remember him from way back. Pok pretends like he doesn’t like the attention, but he is always willing to stop and talk with a table! Pok never seems to get rattled or lose his temper (most great chefs are known for being hot tempered), even in the rush of the summer!
Pok’s creations reflect his unique culinary background but he also believes that good food and amazing presentations don’t have to be pretentious. He’s not afraid to incorporate Southern favorites and comfort food into the menu, usually with a creative twist. We do want guests to try new things, and get a feel for North Carolina cuisine Outer Banks style, but we also know that sometimes you just want a burger and fries!
